March 2010 Workshop with Myungwan Kim 9P
Registration for this workshop is now closed. Bay Area Go Players Association is pleased to present an educational Go workshop with Myungwan Kim 9P.
Myungwan Kim 9P became a pro in 1994 at the age of 16. He is a three-time runner-up in the BC Card Cup for rookies (1998, 1999, and 2002). In 2004 he was a member of the Bohae team in the Korean league. In 2005 he made it to the final eight in the Samsung World Championship.

This two-day workshop will be held Saturday, March 20, and Sunday,
March 21, 2010 in Berkeley, California—about ten miles east of
San Francisco. The workshop is designed for Go players in the range of
7 kyu to 2 dan. Stronger players are allowed to sign up, as long as they
understand that the material will be taught at a level best suited for
players in the 7 kyu to 2 dan range.
The workshop will include lectures, game analysis, interactive exercises,
simuls, and question and answer sessions. This will be a great opportunity
to learn from a top Korean 9 dan professional.
Mr. Kim was the first pro sent to the U.S. by the Korean Baduk Association,
coming to the Los Angeles area in June, 2008. He won the US Go Congress Open
in 2008 and 2009. Today Mr. Kim runs a Go Acadamy in Los Angeles' Korean Go
Club, teaching roughly three times per week. Mr. Kim was promoted to 9 dan
about three months ago.
